European PILOT training
L3Harris works closely with airlines to ensure the Multi-crew Pilot License (MPL) program meets all regulatory aspects and produces highly skilled pilots. Each bespoke syllabus is based upon specific competencies, incorporating the airline's culture, fleet, and SOPs from day one, and includes a type rating as part of the advanced stage of training.
The Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) is issued by CAA or EASA, depending on each specific airline's pilot requirements.
With more than 25 years of experience working with airlines to create ab initio cadet training programs, L3Harris strives to design around airlines' specific standard operating procedures (SOPs), including major players such as British Airways, Air France and easyJet.

CVR Intelligibility Test
CVR Datalink Decoding
Datalink messages are controlled by the Communications Management Unit (CMU) and displayed in the cockpit. These messages are between ATC and the aircraft. They are packed into ARINC 429 words and sent to the CVR for recording. There are several sources and formats for the messages. L3Harris readout service will decrypt the messages and display them in plain, readable text. In some cases, additional messages that contain CMU propriety information, will be recorded. In these cases, only the raw HEX data will be provided. The intent of the report is to provide proof that the messages are being recorded by the CVR as there is no fault indication if the messages are not recorded. Current Datalink decoding supports the following aircraft CMU’s : Airbus GFI 1, Rockwell Collins GFI 2 CMU-900, CMU-4000, RIU-40xx, Boeing 777 DCMR (AIMS) to ASCII, Honeywell GFI 2 Mark II/III CMU, Universal GFI 3 CMU.
CVR readout will first decompress the CVR raw data compressed audio files into a Microsoft standard audio (WAV) file for examination. This file will be accessible through the website. The analysis process will follow the “Guidance on CVR Recording Inspection” produced by the Flight Recorder Partnership Group (EFRPG) and published by the Bureau d’Enquêtes et d’Analyses (BEA) in 2018. All CVR readouts will include Level 2 intelligibility analysis. For speech intelligibility, Flight Data Services analysts who have, or have held, a pilot’s license will listen to the recordings as they are familiar with the standard of reception required for error-free ATC communications. Only English language speech will be analyzed for intelligibility.
The automated FDR analysis complies with the FAA AC 20-141 document, Appendix 5 “TYPICAL REASONABLENESS AND QUALITY CHECK INSTRUCTIONS.” The correlation tests included in Express Readout far exceed the set listed and are carried out for all segments presented for examination. All of the recorded parameters will be tested before the results are collated to form the initial report. At this stage, expert analysts will review the parameters marked “inspect” and review the parameter charts to determine their serviceability. Once this is complete the readout reports will be accessible on the website.

Gain an outsourced safety manager
The NXT-600/800 Mode S Transponders optimize flight and Air Traffic efforts for commercial and military aircraft by providing NextGen ADS-B Out capabilities for maxi-mum operational safety and efficiency. It enables more efficient routing, thereby reducing operational costs, increasing airspace capacity and enhancing situational awareness for overall flight safety.
Platform Solutions
The flight safety support service is an extension to the L3Harris Flight Data Connect service. Expert analysis and investigation capabilities enable operators to release pilots from the office, allowing the safety team to focus on actioning safety. Led by Rob Holliday, former head of operational safety at IATA, this custom-tailored package will deliver value across any operation: > > > > > > >

The flight safety support service is an extension to the Flight Data Connect service wheur expert analysis and investigation capability enables operatos to release pilots from the office allowing the safety team to focus on actioning safety. Led by Rob Holliday, former head of operational safety at IATA, your tailored package will deliver value across your operation: Save time and resources by having all high severity events investigated, reported on, and closed L3Harris will work with your safety management system and enter reports for all safety and maintenance events Objective reports are provided highlighting key risks with guidance on potential resolutions Save money with 12 out-of-hours support calls, free of charge Take advantage of L3Harris experience with informed flight data event threshold reviews every six months Ensure complete data representation with data upload monitoring Involvement in other areas of flight safety management
pushbacksim™ ground handling simulator
> Conventional towbar and towbarless tractor options can be loaded onto one touchscreen console, minimizing hardware costs and floor space > Comprehensive aircraft library including major wide-, medium-, and narrow-body aircraft > Touchscreen interface for multiple tractor control push/tow procedures > Customized databases to replicate airport or gate layout allow specific training in always-challenging locations > Three-channel immersive driving environment > The physics-based development approach lends a real-time response in connecting the towbar to the aircraft and pushing it out to the taxiway > Hands-on experience ensures skill development and familiarity before stepping inside a real tractor > Immediate diagnostic printout helps trainers spot bad habits > 75% of operators surveyed feel “safer” or “much safer” after simulation training > 40% reduction in the learning curve
> Better trained ramp crews for reduced operational costs > Enables training on multiple aircraft and gate con- figurations, regardless of availability of real aircraft > Improves operator competency, may reduce costs associated with aircraft damage > Reduces capital investment for vehicles > Aircraft and equipment are spared heavy use, require less maintenance and last longer overall
Safe ramp operations require skill and advanced training. New operators will gain the basic and advanced skills required to be safe, efficient, and prepared on the job. Unlike conventional training, L3Harris simulators offer repeatable training scenarios as often as needed from the safety of the simulator, saving time and money.
